Outdoor Season

Access to the field

•   Access is through a working farmyard. Please respect and give way to farm workers and vehicles.

Also, please be aware that other organisations use the farmland from time to time (Scouts, Yoga group, etc) and park around the hay barn.

•   If you are first to arrive, please secure both yard gates open using the ropes. Drive through the yard and lane with caution as ramblers and children may be running around.

•   If the ground is wet or soft, please park in the yard car park.

•   If the ground is dry and hard, please use car park adjacent to the field

•   By default we close the track gate behind us to prevent ramblers walking through the farm unless the gate is open with a “Please leave open” sign.

On the field

•   Sign in at the clubhouse before setting up your equipment.

•   Deposit target tarpaulins at the side of the field or behind the wait line whilst you are shooting.

•   Moving bosses is a two-person task, please ask for help rather than drag the boss into position.

•   When moving bosses, please ensure ground pegs are re-secured.

•   Ask before you join a boss in-use.

•   Ensure arrows are clearly marked and identifiable as yours.

Leaving the field

•   Remove target face in adverse weather.

•   Ensure tarpaulin is fully covering the boss and tightly secured top and bottom.

•   Return metal detector/arrow jack to clubhouse.

•   Notify club chairman of any lost arrows or kit.

•   Take your litter home.

Last out?

•   Close and bolt the carpark gate.

•   Close the track gate unless the “Please leave open” sign is present.

•   Close the yard gate and apply the top closure - no need for the lower bolt.

Field maintenance

During summer season, grass cutting takes place on Thursday mornings unless weather forces it to another day.

Indoor Season

For every session, the hall will need to be set up at the start and cleared at the end.

All members are expected to help based upon their abilities.

Setting up:

Tables and seats are placed at the back of the hall against the wall behind the shooting line.

The kettle and drinks making equipment are placed on the centre table.

The bosses are carried out of the storage cupboard and placed at the back of the hall. Carrying bosses is an able bodied two-person job.

Target nets, target lighting, paper targets and boss pins are stored in the storage cupboard.

If you are not confident with setting up the nets and bosses, please lend a hand with:

Tables, chairs, food, water, lights, floor sweeping, shoot line tape, etc.

Competitions and tournaments

As with indoor sessions, we value and appreciate support with set up and clear up of the field for tournaments. See website for dates and please let Bernie know of your availability for the work party.
